Math in Agriculture: A Perfect Fit

Agriculture in the Secondary Classroom: A Perfect Fit (full workshop for 6-12) Do you struggle to bring agriculture into your secondary math classroom? Curious about ways bring real life examples of how math is used in agricultural careers? Then this workshop is for you! Participants will be lead through a series of activities that directly connect agriculture with Common Core mathematics standards, showing the ease in which these can be applied in their classroom. Activities and content to be discussed will include: exploring correlation by making butter, factoring using garden plots, agricultural data and graphical analysis, and others! Focus will be on high school math standards but activities can be applied to lower levels as well.
