 Language Deprivation Syndrome and its Impact on Social and Emotional Development

The poster presentation will discuss the concept behind language deprivation syndrome and its proposed impact towards a healthy social and emotional development. The findings will be presented from the discussion and analysis from selected peer reviewed articles and publications that explore language deprivation syndrome. The poster will be in an infographic format to encourage exploration and discussion with the presenter. The goal of this poster presentation is to engage conversations with others in discussing how we can increase awareness of language deprivation syndrome cases and take away information to share with other professionals and parents/families.

  • Recognize factors that may contribute to language deprivation syndrome
  • Acquire knowledge to encourage other professionals and parents/families about the significance in language acquisition and development
  • Appraise the value of language acquisition and development and its impact on social and emotional development in early childhood
