Development and Production of EHDI Stakeholder Training Videos: Nevada’s Experience

Efficient and effective training of EHDI partners and stakeholders is a time-consuming task which must be repeated often for new and existing partners to ensure adequate concept retention. The partners and stakeholders of EHDI are always expanding and changing and may include the following: hospital screeners, midwives, audiologists, Early Intervention providers, PCPs, parents, family-based organizations, governmental agencies, and many others. The presenter will share the processes Nevada Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) incorporated to develop a series of educational videos to cover the basics of EHDI systems tailored for its diverse EHDI stakeholder partners. This presentation will detail the steps in planning, collaborating, and working with a production vendor to produce professional video training content. Nevada EHDI’s endeavors and successes may be duplicated or enhanced in other jurisdictions to produce similar results.

  • Participants will be able to begin the process of developing EHDI training videos to address program training inefficiencies.
  • Participants will be able to develop a plan to organize video content and video script in preparation for video production.
  • Participants will be able compile all video components in preparation to work with a production company.
