Soil Matters! Fun With Plant Nutrients!
Participants will engage in hands-on activities from California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom’s Plant Nutrients curriculum. Did you know that without bacteria, the nitrogen cycle would cease? Participants will learn about the nitrogen cycle using tactile models and an interactive activity from the unit Chemistry, Fertilizer, and the Environment. Using the Plant Nutrients Fact Sheets, participants will create posters and finally, they will use the student newspaper, What’s Growin’ On?, to learn how farmers take care of our precious soil resource. All material is aligned to Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and National Agricultural Literacy Outcomes.
