Reducing LTF by Developing Partnerships with Community Audiologists
Hearing Screening Associates provides outsourcing services nationwide. We will review strategies implemented to successfully decrease loss-to-follow-up; primarily how developing relationships with Pediatric Audiologists in the community aid in LTF. The ability to have audiologist to audiologist communication can be so valuable to the follow up process. We will also review additional strategies to include: providing outpatient rescreens two weeks post discharge and hospital lead screener communicating with all families of refer babies. We are able to provide this outpatient rescreen in most of our hospitals nation-wide and this has significantly aided in reducing LTF. As an audiology-based outsourcing company we are committed to having all stakeholders participate in the process so that babies awaiting diagnosis do not become lost. We will share some of Hearing Screening Associates’ most successful partnerships with community audiologists, indicating how HSA has been able to maintain low LTF numbers.
- Participants will be able to describe specific activities for improving overall “loss-to-follow-up”.
- Participants will be able to describe how outsourcing can lower LTF.
- Participants will be able to discuss how relationships with diagnostic Pediatric Audiologist can lower LTF.
