Share a SnIPET - Simple aNd Informative Parent Education Tools
Are families overwhelmed with processing information? Getting confused when navigating who’s who? Finding it difficult to pass down information to other family members? Then these SnIPET’s are for you! When we transitioned to direct referrals from our state EHDI program we quickly experienced a change in the needs and concerns of incoming families. Our parent to parent support team shifted to meet the needs of these new concerns. From this we identified typical areas of concern and created SnIPET’s - Simple aNd Informative Parent Education Tools that our parent team uses to share information with the families we support. These tools can also be handed over to the parent so they could revisit it later and have the ability to pass it along to other family members to learn more. This presentation will share the SnIPET’s we’ve created, how to access them and our findings from our parent support team utilizing them with the families they work with.
- Analyze at least 3 SnIPET’s available to families to help them learn when starting the journey of raising a child who is deaf/hard of hearing.
- Participants will know where to Locate these SnIPET’s for educating families you work with.
- Summarize at least 3 benefits the SnIPET’s provide for families.
