C6 BioFarm: A Sustainability Game for Learning the About the Bio-based Economy

C6 BioFarm is a 2D simulation game, published online and available via web browser and mobile applications (Android and iOS). Players interact with the land over a series of rounds (years), Farmville-style, deciding how to implement sustainability practices while producing food, fiber, and fuel. Players are able to see the cumulative effects of their decisions on farm income and the environment. The accompanying curriculum, designed for grades 7-12, is aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Agricultural Education standards and includes a unit on careers in renewable energy.
