Aftermath of CGHH Manila 2016: Ushering a National Program in the Philippines
The CGHH Conference in Manila last October 2016 was successfully hosted by the University of Santo Tomas with 161 local registrants, 136 foreign delegates from 22 countries, and 34 sponsors. It opened new doors for networking and collaboration with government and non-government agencies and academic institutions. The biggest impact is having sensitized the government to organize a task force for the Prevention of Dafness and Hearing Impariemtn in the Philippines which met last 2-4 May 2017 with CBM as major sponsor. A situational analysis using the WHO Situational Analysis Tool was used and the vision, mission, goals, and agreements were drafted.
The presentation will summarize the impact of CGHH 2016 in Manila and hopes that the milestones achieved can be aspired by future host countries making this coalition truly global.
- Understand the value of the WHO Situational Analysis Tool
- Identify the benefits of networking with governmental and non-governmental agencies
