Connecting the Dots

Agricultural literacy offers a gateway of cross-curricular integration for K-12 educators, interventionists, and paraprofessionals. Questions arise of how to pull in the agricultural themes. Learn ideas that have worked from a physical education teacher who has been able to utilize resources and grants to implement cross-curricular integrated lessons. This session will be an overview of ways to incorporate a school garden, Family Fitness Night, connecting with local farmers, integrating computer science, Adopt-A-Farmer, Fuel Up to Play 60, and Food 4 Ever Agriculture Day. Cross-curricular integrations will be shown on how to bring speech pathology, occupational therapy and classroom teachers together.
