Swedish Roadmap for Electric Road System
The Swedish national roadmap for electric road system was presented in November 2017. In the roadmap four strategic areas have been identified; (1) Market and funding, (2) Promote, contribute to and pave the way for a broadened market and greater competition between the transmission systems by raising more systems to TRL level 5-6, (3) Prepare and implement a major electric road system pilot and (4) Create a long-term plan for the construction and development of electric road systems.
The first activity is to analyse possible stakeholder networks, suitable business models and financing strategies. A second step, in March 2018, is to launch a pre-commercial procurement on electric road system. The focus on this procurement is to gain knowledge about building, operating and maintaining an electric road system.

Dr Magnus Lindgren is the project manager of the pre-commercial procurement of electric road system and vice program manager for the electric road program at the Swedish Transport Administration. The Electric road program include the ERS demonstration activities, the research and innovation platform of electric road, the national ERS roadmap and the German & Swedish partnership for innovation regarding mobility.
