Otitis Media: educator’s responsibilities in low income countries
THE HIGH PREVALENCE OF OTITIS MEDIA ACUTE AND CHRONIC IS INCREASING IN LOW INCOME COUNTRIES, MAINLY Latin American POPULATIONS WITH LOW OR INEXISTENT ACCESS TO HEALTH SUPPORT IN PRIMARY LEVEL AND POOREST IN OTOLARYNGOLOGIST. FOR THAT REASON IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TRY TO FIND A FREQUENT HELP FROM EDUCATORS BECAUSE THEY USUALLY WORK IN TOWNS MORE FAR FROM THE MAIN CITIES WHERE THE HEALTH CENTERS ARE AND THEN BE IN TOUCH WITH STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT LEVELS AND AGES AND THEIR PARENTS AND FAMILIES. THE MAIN REASONS ARES:
1. PRIMARY DETECTION AFTER PREVIOUS LEARNING WORKOUT WITH EDUCATORS DURING SEVERAL WEEKS WITH APPROPIATE ITEMS.
2. EASY CONTACT WITH THE COMMUNITIES AND FREQUENT ACCESS TO SPECIALIZED HEALTH RESOURCES FOR THE PARENTS DETECTED-
3. APPROPIATE BOOKLETS FOR DISCUSSION IN CLASS AND DISTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY.
4. ASK TO THE COMMUNITY FOR JOINING WITH HEALTH RESOURCES IN THEIR TOWN WHEN REQUIRED.
5. PROMOTION ABOUT ALL THE HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS OVER THE EAR DISEASES THAT IS PERMANENT RESPONSABILITIES IN EDUCATORS AND THE COMMUNITY.
THOSE ARE ALL THE REASONS FOR EAR HEALTH PROMOTIONS BY EDUCATORS AND THE NECESSITY THAT THE HEALTH PROFESSIONALS BE NEAR THEM.
