Expanding the EHDI-PALS Directory and Resources
The Early Hearing Detection & Intervention - Pediatric Audiology Links to Services (EHDI-PALS) is an online portal and web directory for families and professionals in need of finding age appropriate, qualified pediatric audiologists in their communities. It also provides a plethora of family resources and information to help guide and educate parents searching for information on childhood hearing loss.
In addition to the directory, there is a backend framework of built-in tools and reports designed to assist the EHDI Coordinator with state program efforts.
Since January of 2019 NCHAM has taken the lead on the EHDI-PALS program with the intention of enhancing and maximizing the existing platform to increase awareness, improve the integrity of the facility data and increase utilization.
A number of updates have taken place such as the implementation of a Spanish version of the directory, the development of a family resources section, revised EHDI program tools, facility survey updates and more.
This presentation will provide a review of updates and enhancements over the past year; future plans to create an educational platform of resources for audiology providers and efforts to build awareness among families, EHDI programs, healthcare professionals and related EHDI professionals.
