Whose project is it? Working in partnership between organisations.
When going into a new country or location it is often at the request of a local organization. This presentation will draw on examples from EARS Incorporated’s audiology projects in Dominican Republic, Fiji, Colombia and Papua New Guinea to discuss the challenges and benefits of working with a local organization at different stages of project development including: what to look for in a partner at the pre-planning stage, to how to work with a partner on project development, challenges and conflicts that may arise in the implementation and how will you manage the handover.

Donna is an Australian pediatric audiologist with over 27 years experience, who has focused on humanitarian audiology for 17 years. She has worked on projects with EARS Inc. since her first short term trip in 2001. She lived in the Dominican Republic from 2005 to 2013 developing a university training program in Audiology. Since 2014 she has been working on a project in Fiji. She is currently working on projects in both Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
