Gardening From my Head To-ma-toes
Presentation will show and explain to participants how to start and manage their own school garden. A power point presentation will show how to incorporate the benefits of caring for a garden into the curriculum. Actual photographs will document each step of preparing a garden. A variety of subject areas will be demonstrated with make and take activities. We also will show how we incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with our garden. Fresh from the garden recipes will be offered.

Lani is in her 6th year of teaching at Canute. She lives in Canute with her husband Clay. They have an agricultural background in raising registered Herefords. Her hobbies include raising chickens, gardening, hunting, and running. She has also presented at the State Oklahoma AITC conference in the summer of 2016 and has appeared on the website as a 2016-2017 AITC featured teacher.

Stephanie is in her 22nd year of teaching. She has been teaching 1st grade at Canute for 6 years. She lives in Canute with her husband Mandell and son Lane. They have an agricultural background in farming and raising cattle. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, shopping, gardening, and reading. She has also presented at the Oklahoma State AITC conference in July 2016 and has appeared as a featured teacher on the AITC website in the 2016-2017 school year.
