Scania view on Electric roads. It´s time to move!

Greenhouse gas emissions from heavy commercial vehicles has to be reduced by at least 50% per decade; electrification plus renewable energy production being tools. However, electric energy transfer still remains an issue. Scania research three different technologies: Electric roads, Powerful charging to batteries and Fuel cell with Hydrogen. Years of real life operation now give us trust; electric roads being viable to be ramped from test to commercial operation. But business models, financing and where to build remain unanswered. Further, grid stability and energy production add to the list. Scania promote a “step by step” electric road deployment model, building on economic aspects. More than 300.000 connected Scania trucks and buses will assist while producing relevant operational data. Not to the least; energy production in Sweden is literally fossil free and grid stability is among the best in the world. Let’s start there! Learn more at www.scania.com/electrification.
