Eat a Rainbow and Graph Your Garden: Using School Gardens & Nutrition to Support Visual &Tactile Learners

WV ranks third in the nation in obesity and has many economically disadvantaged areas. Our creative school garden curriculum utilizes SNAP Ed funding to provide nutrition education introducing fresh fruits and vegetables as tasty and healthy snack options. Hands-on gardening opportunities provide participants with knowledge to make better food decisions and skills related to food and plant production. Lessons support visual and tactile learners, reinforcing math, science, art and technology in an exciting tasty way.
