Going Global Through Geography

Provide students with a global perspective by offering exploration of various cultures through cuisine and geography. Come along and travel the world as we discuss ways to provide students with a unique understanding of agriculture and how it enriches specific cultures. Areas of exploration include Ocha, the Japanese tea ceremony, Greek saganaki (flaming cheese), Indian samosas, and champurrado, a traditional Mexican Day of the Dead drink. Learn how you can cultivate student interest in travel and exploration while embedding agriculture into social studies curriculum/lessons. Agriculture topics include information about corn crops, potato farming, dairy production, and harvesting green tea leaves.
