The Three E's of E-therapy, the Ethics, Ease and Efficacy

E-therapy is a growing area of the counseling field. Technology is growing at a rapid rate, and will continue to do so. This presentation hopes to touch on various aspects of this field, not to be a comprehensive coverage. It will start with some history and development, including borrowing from other fields. There will be a small group breakout to discuss ethical case challenges. Some discussion of the technology involved will take place. Various tools and some techniques will be covered. Suggestions as to further resources will complete this brief coverage of this topic.

  • Learn about the ethical dilemnas that are inherent in e-therapy
  • Learn about the research behind it, the background, and how effective and efficient it can be, as shown by research
  • Learn about the various laws and rules covering e-therapy, how to utilize them, and where and how to get more information on this field.
