Opportunities for State-level Collaboration

Families are always seeking resources near and far, online and in person. It can be challenging when families are expected to navigate the journey of early intervention resources on their own, or to make choices on which resources to utilize. This presentation will present a panel of experienced early intervention and outreach professionals on successful collaborative practices in combining resources and information in ways beneficial to families, from dual enrollment to cross-sharing information on events online or in print. Schools for the deaf, private schools, state agencies, family-centered organizations, and deaf organizations all can contribute positively to families' lives- is that happening in your state yet? If yes, come and share your stories. If no, come and be inspired by the provided examples! Policy and systematic analysis with specific state-based examples also will be provided as foreground information to support ideas into becoming action. This lines into the Maternal and Child Health Bureau's aim and vision of increased collaboration between agencies and organizations.

  • Identify different approaches to providing information to families
  • The participants will be able to list three benefits of developing collaborative services
  • Identify and understand gaps in bridging system-wide services
