Dual Impressions: Faculty and Student Perspectives in Global Audiology Training and Education
Through the Salus University AuD Bridge program, faculty engage with audiologists from around the world. The teaching experience leaves a lasting impression on faculty as we learn how cultural differences and practices impact audiology services globally. This presentation will present a snapshot of the perspectives of faculty and students gained from the teaching and learning process. For faculty, we will share how cultural differences, working environments, student experiences, and motivation to improve local audiology services have influenced our teaching practices. From students, we will share how coursework in habilitation, counseling, and educational audiology have influenced their practices as well as the challenges with implementation in contexts with limited resources.
- Participants will describe two faculty teaching practices that have been influenced by instruction in the International AuD Bridge program.
- Participants will describe one challenge that students have experienced in implementing learned practices in their local communities.
- Participants will describe key practices that students have identified as most meaningful to their local practice as a result of the International AuD Bridge program.
