Aligning and Leveraging Practices and Policies for Improved Student Outcomes
The session will highlight identified best practices in aligning and leveraging teaching and leadership practices and policies to support improved outcomes for all students. Participants will walk through four (4) areas of emphasis – Getting Started, Getting Real about Instruction, Getting Serious about Inclusive Leadership, and Getting Clear that the Work is Technical and Adaptive - with a deeper dive in areas where personal impact can be made in the classroom and school environments. This session will be discussion-based and reflective on the participant's own practice through a lens of continuous improvement.
- Highlight identified best practices in aligning and leveraging practices and policies to support improved outcomes for all students.
- Identify alignment opportunities where personal impact can be made in the classroom and school environment.
- Learn from and with individuals who are working to implement coherent and aligned systemic intervention.

Jana Rosborough, J.D., M.S.E., is a Senior Program Associate for WestEd’s Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. Her work with the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI) focuses on assisting states in transforming systems of early intervention and special education, leveraging her legal background to drive systems alignment, towards improved outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities.
