The 4 Cs = CCR

The 21st Century Skills of Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking could and should be used as a framework in every classroom in order to help students to 1) become more engaged in the content, and 2) become more prepared for their future. Students who have learned and systematically use a discussion protocol in class get more from classroom discussions and are more adept at voicing opinions, defending positions, and understanding others. When students collaborate in a classroom they learn to work together and develop skills for their future workplace and personal relationships. If teachers will teach creativity skills, assign creative, problem-solving work, and allow creative assessments, they will find that engagement and performance increases. All of these skills utilize high level critical thinking skills instead of the lower level skills sometimes found in traditional classrooms. These 4 skills must be learned in order for our students to flourish in post-secondary educational settings and workplaces in their futures. Our students may be working in jobs that haven't been created yet and with people from all over the world; they need to develop these four skills in order to compete and flourish in the 21st century.

  • Attendees will learn about the 4 Cs of 21st Century Learning.
