A Baker's Dozen...Make 'n Takes, Books and More!
Looking for engaging make 'n takes ready-made to complement your current classroom curriculum? Come discover a few of Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom's favorite books paired with hands-on activities and lessons linked to Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. This session will feature an hour of crafts and books, and even time to make 'n take the activities with you!

Laura Vollmer serves as an Education Specialist for Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom.
As an Education Specialist, Laura helps provide educational resources, training and support related to agriculture for classroom teachers throughout the state. Through this training and support, Ag in the Classroom strives to increase school children’s understanding of their food and fiber system.
Laura has been with Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom since January 2012. Prior to her work with Illinois AITC, she taught Pre-K, Kindergarten and fourth Grade.
Laura graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She and her husband, Dan, reside in Congerville, Illinois with their twin daughters, Addison and Natalie.

Jackie Jones

Jackie Jones has worked for Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom since October 2007. She previously served as an Education Specialist for the program, and was named Education Manager in June 2009.
As Education Manager, Jackie helps provide educational resources, training, and support related to agriculture for classroom teachers throughout the state. Through this training and support, Ag in the Classroom strives to increase school children’s understanding of their food and fiber system.
Jackie has been with Illinois Farm Bureau® since May of 2005. Prior to her work with Illinois AITC, she served as the Cumberland County (IL) Farm Bureau Manager.
Jackie graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communications. She and her husband, Jeff, reside in rural Beason, Illinois, with their sons, Tanner and Gage.
