Ethical Complexities of Confidentiality for Working with Domestic Violence Populations (E) (TF)

The key to connecting is viewing every situation as a learning opportunity. In this workshop, we will combine our different skills and identify ways to increase our therapeutic power by utilizing peer support, transparency and collaboration. In turn, we will become more confident in our ability to connect on a deeper level with our clients to enhance healing from traumatic experiences.

  • Identify key components to establish and improve the therapeutic alliance with Domestic Violence clients.
  • Increase collaboration and empowerment with even the most difficult clients and be equipped with strategies in coming full circle with the client, thus reaching a point of understanding through trauma informed practices.
  • Discover barriers that may inhibit a positive therapeutic relationship and learn strategies to connect with the individual confidently even when potential cultural, historical or counter-transference issues may arise.
