A Utility Perspective to EV Integration

Rocky Mountain Power will describe the company’s electric vehicle charging deployment strategy and its research efforts on streamlining infrastructure requirements. With the rapid growth of EVs and charging equipment, an optimized, standardized approach is needed to avoid overbuilding. Rocky Mountain Power’s research has been broken out into three key areas: residential, commercial/transit corridor, and electric bus charging. When the utility and its customers work from the same set of assumptions, optimal integration is assured. This presentation will describe initial research findings and next steps.
