Making it Work: Using Tier 2 Interventions to Advocate for Students
Tired of trackers? Wondering how to meaningfully support groups of students with similar functions of behavior? As educators, we often work within problem solving teams to address student behavior and we play an important role in developing and implementing meaningful Tier 2 behavioral interventions. This session will review how systematic, and research-based approaches to tiered interventions can be implemented in a practical way within your school’s PBIS framework.
You will walk away with practical ideas and samples of ready-to-use Tier 2 interventions to share with your team and building leadership as you help lead implementation in your school. You will have time to reflect on your current interventions and team structures. You will learn more about how to refine and/or implement a systematic response to intervention that allows you to advocate for and meet the needs of all students.
- Attendees will be able to develop a better understanding of the importance of Tier 2 interventions as a component of their existing PBIS framework.
- Attendees will be able to reflect upon the way they currently identify students and to what extent they provide systematic evidence-based Tier 2 interventions to students in need.
- Attendees will be able to employ the strategies presented to create or adapt their Tier 2 system to make it more efficient.
