Writing Strategies That Work For All Students
This hands on writing session will allow attendees to learn how UDL and the 5 Anchors for Differentiation support the Utah Core Writing Standards. There will be a focus on Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) to enhance writing instruction. Participants will learn how to incorporate Utah Compose as a tool to support differentiated writing instruction. Session attendees will receive a writing strategies book to support their learning and instruction.
- Participants will learn how UDL and the 5 Anchors for Differentiation support the Utah Core Writing Standards.
- Participants will learn SRSD strategies to enhance writing instruction and will receive a Writing Strategies book to take with them.
- Participants will learn how Utah Compose is a tool to support differentiated writing instruction and SRSD.

Ellen Bailey

Ellen has worked for many years with students in both the special education and general education classroom as a team leader, teacher, mentor and advocate for all student. She has a under graduate degree in English and a masters degree in special education with a focus on early reading development and instruction. She is now working for the Utah State Board of Education as a special education literacy specialist.
