From Language Deprivation to Language Thrivation: Changing the Paradigm for Families and Service Providers

The ability to thrive with language is possible regardless of modality when parents and teams are empowered with factors that lead to Language Thrivation. Language Thrivation is a term used to change the paradigm of how families and children approach the acquisition of language and communication to focus on one year's growth in one year's time.

  • Participants will learn the definition of Language Thrivation and introduce it to families in early intervention.
  • Participants will understand the impact of a Language Thrivation approach with families and how families can benefit.
  • Participants will learn three strategies to create a Language Thrivation approach in their state system.
