The Consensus Process: Building Unity and Alignment

How does your EHDI state stakeholder team make decisions? What if the issue is controversial and there is diversity of thought? This session will look at the definition, theory and most importantly, the practice of consensus decision-making, by providing EHDI teams and others, the tools & a grounding in this topic.

  • Explain the fundamentals behind the cornerstone of team building: The Consensus Process
  • Explain the importance of establishing clarity before trying to establish agreement.
  • Appreciate that there is a distinct difference between a team's diversity and being divisive

Tony is married & the father of two young adults; one hearing and one deaf. His deaf daughter is now Junior at Gallaudet. He has been deeply involved in parent to parent support, and has served in numerous parent based organizations. Tony is trained & certified change agent, a professionally licensed engineer and a manager.
