Dr. Allen will provide an overview of impacts of agriculture irrigation on Utah’s agriculture, economy, and hydrology. He will provide answers to common questions concerning agriculture water use, water rights, and water institutions.

Dr. Allen is a faculty member in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and the Extension Irrigation Specialist for Utah. His primary focus it irrigated agriculture in Utah. After graduating from USU’s Agriculture and Irrigation Engineering Department in 1980, he has designed and constructed irrigation systems in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, worked with USU Extension for 10 years, consulted for 22 years, served as an expert witness for water right cases in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Montana. He has also prepared water conservation and management plans for several large irrigation projects.
