A Utah School District's Journey into Implementing Behavioral Screening
Behavior screening has become an increasingly used tool nationwide to improve academic and behavioral decision making at various levels (district, school, classroom, individual). However, behavior screening has not been utilized much in Utah schools. This presentation will discuss one Utah school district's journey in implementing behavior screening at the elementary school level. This presentation will outline the value of behavior screening, how it fits in an MTSS model, implementation considerations when getting started with behavior screening, and how to use the data to help decision making.
- Participants will understand how behavior screening fits within a MTSS model.
- Participants will understand what steps need to be in place to implement a system for behavior screening.
- Participants will get ideas on how to use behavior screening data for decision making.
