SYSTEMS is the Key Word in MTSS

When looking at MTSS models, it must be understood that there is not a single PROGRAM that will work to address the individual needs of students. MTSS starts with effective tier 1 instruction and tier 1 interventions that happen immediately within the four walls of the classroom. A school-wide system must be in place to support student learning when tier 1 does not work. This presentation will be an open discussion about what MTSS is and will incite thought about structures that need to be in place to help it flourish with time embedded into the school day. There will be multiple examples shared that can be implemented at your school.

  • Understand MTSS is not a program
  • Discuss ideas on how to implement systems of support in the school structure.
