From Trauma Informed to Trauma Responsive: Creating a Culture of Care
Understand how trauma affects the brain, and learn about ways to calm the stress response and ready brains for learning. Participants will learn about the ACE study and brain development. Understand pre-frontal cortex development and how to reverse damage by creating new neural pathways. Learn strategies for developing neurocognitive abilities that are critical to students’ academic and social-emotional success. Learn how to develop student mindfulness and develop their metacognitive skills. Receive tools to help students take charge of their own learning and develop resilience.
- Understand the affects of Adverse Childhood Experiences on learning.
- Learn techniques and strategies on school-wide Mindfulness, Resilience, and Social Emotional Learning Programs
- Discuss and Examine ways to restructure and build a positive school culture
