Diving Deeper into VSV (Virtual Site Visit) Parent Materials

The Virtual Site Visit (VSV) project was created with the assistance of the EHDI staff and parent representatives from 6 states. The goal was to provide a complete system of support and resources to NBHS programs during the pandemic and beyond. By maximizing established resources and with the creation of new materials not only are EHDI programs able to provide sustainable support they are also able to provide equal access within all of the NBHS programs while strengthening partnerships and addressing the fluidity of program staffing. In addition, parent materials were created in English and Spanish increasing access to information to parents and their supporting family members. This presentation will focus on the three parent materials developed from the VSV project sharing key features, how they can help EHDI programs provide support and awareness and when to utilize these parent materials. In addition, all attendees will be able to have instant online access to these documents throughout the presentation.

  • Identify at least 3 avenues in which providers can share the “What to Expect” handout.
  • Learn how to use the parent story builder to create awareness, recognition, identify areas for improvement and support funding requests.
  • Describe at least 3 benefits to utilizing and sharing the “Next Steps” document.
