Understanding the Impact of Childhood Trauma on Health and Well-being Across the Lifespan.
The Building Resiliency by Understanding the Impact of Childhood Trauma on Health and Well-being Across the Lifespan discussion format will focus on how clinicians outside of the behavioral health world can be part of the healing response to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. Sharing the healthcare perspective and its challenges when working with victims of violence and abuse with professionals whose careers are directed specifically in working with victims can inform and enhance our response toward ending and thereby preventing intergenerational violence.
- Recognize the impact of trauma on overall health and well-being across the lifespan;
- Generalize the key principles of the trauma-informed approach for use in the primary healthcare setting; and
- Demonstrate the use of a novel App for use in healthcare to aid in the identification and intervention for patients who have experienced trauma and adversity
