Direct Referrals - What We've Learned
Hear from members of our team as they share the latest shifts in providing parent to parent support that they’ve experienced and the variety of tools utilized to provide support to families. Changes in technology, information access and time constraints of families have kept our program on our toes. In addition, our parent to parent support program transitioned in 2020 to receive referrals directly from our state EHDI program. Once we began receiving direct referrals we quickly experienced a shift in the needs and concerns of our incoming families. Join us as we share what we’ve learned about providing parent to parent support within the baby's first year.
- Compare the shift we’ve seen in the needs of families with children who have a child who is deaf/hard of hearing since receiving referrals directly from our state EHDI program.
- Summarize the feedback the parent to parent support team has experienced working directly with parents of children who are deaf/hard of hearing.
- Identify at least 3 tools our parent to parent support team utilizes while working directly with families.
