Technology Takeover?? - Developing an understanding of Competency-Based Education Practices in Utah
Many Utah districts are seeking ways to personalize learning to improve education for each student. Competency-Based Education is one possible model, but for some parents they feel like technology is taking too large of a role and is replacing quality teachers. Come and learn about the vision for Competency-Based Education and what is actually happening in Utah schools. By building an understanding of Competency-Based education, you can learn how the future of personalized learning can be achieved and how you can be a key leader in that effort.
- Participants will be able to articulate the five points of competency-based education.
- Participants will be able to link the points to the education research base for competency-based learning.
- Participants will start to be familiar with active models for CBE learning in Utah.
