Trauma Informed Education in Schools, A Systematic Approach
Over the last three years Iron County School District has taken a hard look at what we are doing for our students with behavioral skill deficits and those that have experienced trauma. Through the work of many committees looking at a multi-tiered approach we have begun a process that we feel begins to answer the questions we have had in the past: How do we help our students that have behavioral skill deficits? How can we better assist our students that come to us having experienced trauma in their lives? What can we do to help prepare our teachers for the more difficult population of students we continue to support each year? Come learn what Iron County School District is doing on all levels to address one of the largest challenges facing educators and our school systems today. You will walk away from this session hearing practical applications and real world approaches that schools are currently using on all levels: elementary, middle, and high school.
- Participants will have a clear understanding of a Multi-Tiered approach to Trauma Informed Education.
- Participants will have a clear understanding of the process used to create a district wide system of support to address behavior and trauma in the schools.
- Participants will receive practical application techniques and real world approaches geared to all three levels: elementary, middle and high.
